About

“I saw his name on the War Memorial but who was he really?”

Our objectives are to preserve the life and times of the service persons who enlisted in the Allied Forces from around the World

We want to gather the profiles and stories of the people who fought for our freedom even losing their own and ending up ‘behind the wire’. These soldiers need to be known  as real people who fought in the European and Pacific Theatres. We need relations to assist so that we can preserve the memories forever. Time is passing quickly as shown that it is 80 years since the events in Europe. Very few of these en and women are still alive and soon their generation will be gone and the stories will be lost forever. The next generation (yes the Baby Boomers) have the opportunity to recall the stories and keep them for prosterity. These service persons may not have set out to be heroes but they still deserve the recognition of their immense contribution. This is one way they can be remembered. Relatives who are eager to share their stories are welcome to  contact us through our Contact Page. Using information and stories we will put together all we can about the soldier then place it on the internet on this website called prisonersofwarcrete.com

We are happily awaiting your contact and hear the stories, photographs, scans of memorabilia and information you have. Your permission will be sort before we add your soldier to this site.

Soon there will be no one left to tell the stories. It would be a tragedy that these people and their stories will  be lost forever. If we don’t collect them now, tomorrow may just be too late.

Want to help? Get in touch through email awbuirchell@outlook.com and we will develop a profile for your soldier. This will be sent to you to correct and add to the information plus add stories that you recall hearing. Any photos or memorabilia can be scanned or photographed. Send everything into us for processing. The resultant web pages will be sent back for a final okay before it is put on the internet. An example is
